Qualifying Disabilities

To constitute a "disability," an individual's condition must substantially limit a major life activity such as caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, and working.

For the purposes of providing effective accommodations at college, it is important to be able to predict the functional impact of the student's disability on coursework, testing, and program requirements.
