Record year of giving has MacMurray "energized"

June 6, 2018

MacMurray College finished the 2017-18 fiscal year in record fashion as it exceeded its fundraising goals for the year.

The College received a record of more than $930,000 in cash gifts given to the unrestricted annual fund, a $100,000 increase from last year. Total annual fund giving, including unrestricted estate gifts, also exceeded last year's total, reaching $1.5 million, up from $1 million.

Overall, fundraising at MacMurray reached $1.96 million.

"We are thrilled by the amount of support we have received from our Mac Fam," David Hawsey, vice president of institutional advancement and enrollment management, said. "All of this confirms that our alumni, the Board of Trustees, corporations, foundations and friends of the College are investing in MacMurray's future."

This generous support has helped MacMurray invest in improvement projects across campus. Projects have included the renovation of Jane Hall, outdoor lighting from Gamble Campus Center to South Campus, upgraded wireless service, new windows in Rutledge Hall and new fitness equipment in Jenkins Education Complex. This summer the bathrooms in Norris House and Kendall House will be renovated and McClelland Dining Hall will get a new roof.

"MacMurray College is energized," Hawsey said. "It's an exciting place to be and we can thank the leadership our board of trustees has shown, and our generous supporters for the momentum and energy that has permeated our campus, the city of Jacksonville, and all across the larger MacNation."
