MacMurray College Professor of English Jeannie Zeck was selected to take part in the College Board’s Annual Associated Press (AP) Reading in English Literature in June along with other high school and college educators. Zeck helped to assess and score the free-response essay portions of the AP Exams.
“The Reading draws upon the talents of some of the finest teachers and professors that the world has to offer,” said Trevor Packer, Senior Vice President, AP and Instruction at the College Board. “It fosters professionalism, allows for the exchange of ideas, and strengthens the commitment to students and to teaching. We are grateful for the contributions of talented educators like Jeannie Zeck.”
Originally from Richfield, MN, Dr. Zeck received her bachelor’s from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN in 1976, an MFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota in 1980, and was awarded her Ph.D. in 20th century American literature from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1995. Before coming to MacMurray, she taught at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. She lives in Jacksonville and has been teaching literature and theater at MacMurray since 1999.
