Art professor exhibits at alma mater
December 3, 2014
MacMurray College Associate Professor of Art Khara Koffel is exhibiting her works at her alma mater, Juniata College, in Huntingdon, PA. The show, “every before has an after,” continues through Feb. 7 at the Juniata College Museum of Art.
Koffel describes the exhibition as “conceptual,” based on memories and focused on nostalgia, relationships and distance. She describes the themes in her art as meditations on, “time, distance and relationships, and the ongoing struggle of maintaining them throughout the course of a lifetime.”
She started her art training as a ceramic artist at Juniata. When she earned an MFA at the University of Alabama, she switched her focus to sculpture and three-dimensional art. She was hired at MacMurray College in 2004 and serves as the college’s art program director and director of the Applebee Gallery on campus. She was awarded the 2014 Young Alumni Achievement Award by Juniata during Alumni Weekend in June.

Koffel resides in Jacksonville with her husband, Marc Benner. See her Web site here.
