June 23, 2014
The MacMurray College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Elisha Fry as the Highlanders’ new women’s and men’s assistant soccer coach. Fry comes to MacMurray after serving as an assistant coach for the University of Rio Grande women’s soccer team in Rio Grande, Ohio, where she recently completed her master’s degree in education in athletic coaching leadership.
A native of Guisborough, England, Fry attended Middlesbrough College in Middelsbrough, England, where she received distinction in obtaining the BTEC National Certificate in Sports Development and Fitness. As an undergraduate, Fry played collegiate soccer at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, KY, where she was a member of the 2012 NAIA National Championship team. She majored in physical education and health at Lindsey Wilson.
In addition to her standout collegiate career at Lindsey Wilson College, Fry accumulated a wealth of playing experience in England. She captained the English Under-19 national team in 2008 and also played for Sunderland, Leeds United, Middlesbrough FC, Marton FC, and North Riding County soccer clubs.
“Elisha brings a fantastic playing background and experience level to MacMurray Soccer; however, her outstanding character and overall dedication to personal and professional excellence is equally impressive,” said MacMurray College Head Soccer Coach Bill Koeppen. “I am excited for our school and programs because Elisha will bring high standards to the programs in terms of character, work ethic and drive. There is no question that we hired the right person for the job.”
“I am really excited for the opportunity Coach Koeppen and MacMurray College has given to me to be part of the Highlanders’ soccer programs and look forward to getting to know the players and the staff,” said Fry. “It’s a great challenge for me and I truly believe that this program has an exciting future.”
Fry will begin her coaching responsibilities at MacMurray College on August 1.
