January 9, 2014
Eric Berg, associate professor of philosophy and religion at MacMurray College, has been appointed the editor for Protestant theology and doctrine at the scholarly journal, Religious Studies Review.
As editor of that section, he will be in charge of assigning book reviews and book notes for all texts published in English on or relating to Protestant theology and doctrine. Dr. Berg has reviewed books for Religious Studies Review for 14 years and will now take on a prestigious leadership role at the publication.
Religious Studies Review (http://reli.rice.edu/Content.aspx?id=60) is based at the Department of Religious Studies at Rice University and published by Wiley Online Library, the only publication that provides major review essays and short reviews for most publications in religious studies around the world, according to the Review’s Web site.
Dr. Berg earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Kansas, his master’s at Luther Seminary and his bachelor’s at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He was the 2007 recipient of the Dewey Wilkins Award for Teaching Excellence at MacMurray and was twice a research fellow at the Hong Kierkegaard Library at St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
