June 1, 2012

JACKSONVILLE, IL – MacMurray Art Professor Khara Koffel was recently awarded an Honorable Mention in the biennial Art from the Heartland show in Indianapolis, IN.

It was one of eight honors awarded by curator Paula Katz of the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis. More than 300 regional artists submitted work, and Katz selected 55 artists for the show, which concludes June 10.

In recent years, Koffel’s work has been selected for exhibitions throughout the country, including shows in Chicago, St. Louis, Alabama, California and Maryland.

In 2000, she received her bachelor's in Studio Arts and Art History from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA, and, in 2003, an MFA in sculpture and photography from the University of Alabama.
