How to say 'I'm sorry'

April 4, 2013

Matt Waldschlagel, an ethicist in the Philosophy and Religion Department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, will conclude the 2013-14 MacMurray Speaker Series with a talk about the elements of a proper apology and a true act of forgiveness.

The final event in the speakers series, “Perspectives on Social Justice,” will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at the Thoresen Recital Hall in the Putnam/Springer Center, located at the southeast corner of State and Clay streets, on the MacMurray College campus in Jacksonville.

Dr. Waldschlagel will explore a variety of questions surrounding a true apology and sincere forgiveness, such as: What is a genuine apology? Why do we forgive? How are apology and forgiveness connected?

The event is free and open to the public.
