November 15, 2013
Social work major Anna Ruppel, of Jacksonville, IL, was named the October 2013 Student of the Month at MacMurray College. She was nominated by Jodi Williams, assistant professor of social work.
Ruppel, a 2009 graduate of Routt Catholic High School, is the daughter of Tim and Kelly Ruppel of Jacksonville.
She is the current president of the Social Work Club, a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and volunteers for several causes, including The Bridge Homeless Shelter and the Jacksonville Congregational United Church of Christ.
“She is an exemplary student and exhibits the essence of leadership,” Williams said. “Anna is an integral aspect to our program and has a personal spirit of leadership. We can always count on her work to be efficient and effective!”
This recognition puts Ruppel in the running for MacMurray College’s Student of the Year award. She is pictured with Dean of Student Affairs Martin Sabolo.
