MacMurray seeks community input in presidential search

July 29, 2019 | 9:24 AM

The MacMurray College Presidential Search Committee will be hosting a forum to listen to thoughts and suggestions about the search for the 17th president of the college.

The committee encourages faculty, staff, students and the community to participate in the Presidential Search Forum in Thoresen Recital Hall on Friday, August 2 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Putnam/Springer Center, located at the southeast corner of State and Clay streets on the MacMurray campus.

The forum will be moderated by the search committee co-chairs, Debbie Trueblood ’99 and Sandy Watson ’72, who will explain the search process and what is planned in the coming months.

“The committee especially welcomes your ideas about the qualities that we should seek in the next president and your nominations of potential candidates,” Trueblood said. “At the forums, we will ask for your comments and suggestions on these matters, and you’ll get a chance to give us written comments.”

The forum is informal and all are welcome to come and go as needed. If you are unable to attend, you can still give your input by going to and completing the Feedback Form.

The search committee welcomes suggestions for possible candidates for the presidency of MacMurray College. Please send your nominations to and include contact information for the person you nominate, if available. These names will be held in the strictest confidence.
