MacMurray College is set to present the play, Steel Magnolias, on Nov. 18-19 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 20 at 2:30 p.m. at the Marian Chase Schaeffer Theatre in the Jenkins Education Complex on the campus of MacMurray College.
The comedy-drama shows the story of a group of southern women dealing with the trials and tribulations of life and how it bonds them together.
The play is directed by Russel Walker, an assistant professor of nursing at MacMurray. He has been working with the show for several months now and said, “I am proud of them for the progress they have made.” He continued, “It’s been challenging, but despite the challenges they have been resilient and their talent is quite amazing both onstage as well as the crew.”
For tickets, visit the MacMurray Bookstore on campus or call the Box Office at 217.479.7205.
The performance will be interpreted for the deaf by MacMurray students during the Friday, Nov. 18 performance only.
