Highlanders earn All-Conference honors

After finishing a noteworthy season, the Highlander baseball team cleaned house with SLIAC all-conference recognition. First year Head Coach, Austin Brough led the team to an East Division Championship for the first time in over 16 years, earning SLIAC Coach of the Year. This is the second year in a row MacMurray has taken this award for baseball.

Earning First Team honors was Luke Jarvis and Collin Antoine. Jarvis is a junior pitcher from Kankakee, Ill. Jarvis finished regular season with a 2.15 Earned Run Average (ERA) throwing 56 strikeouts in 54.1 innings. Antoine is a sophomore second baseman from Lincoln, Ill. Antoine ended with an impressive .400 batting average and added 24 RBI.

With Second Team recognition was outfielder, Drew Johnson. Johnson transferred in this year from Benedictine and played a major role in this year’s success. Johnson completed regular season with a .310 batting average slamming in six home runs and adding 36 RBI. Johnson is an outfielder from Creal Springs, Ill.

Earning Third Team All-Conference was Connor Jacobs and Drake Hardin. Jacobs is a senior pitcher from Springfield, Ill. Jacobs finished regular season with an ERA of 3.86 striking out 65 in 70 innings. Hardin is a senior infielder from Springfield, Ill. Hardin had a batting average of .371 with two homeruns this season and 26 RBI.

Dillon Hodges was awarded with SLIAC All-Sportsmanship award, and was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament team, Hodges is a senior from Delavan, Ill.
