Highlanders drop to Westminster

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Highlanders fell behind early in the first as Westminster went on a five point run. Nick Carlos opened the game for the Blue Jays with a three pointer, and Tanner Cochran followed with a jump shot. The Highlanders faced difficulty moving around the Blue Jay defense and were not able to get on the board until three minutes in. The Highlanders would not overcome the deficit in the first half resulting in a 31-24 halftime score. The Highlanders came back out on top in the second half scoring 17 points before Westminster could score eight and took a two-point lead. The Blue Jays battled back and were in favor as the clock ran down, resulting in a 64-60 loss for the Highlanders.
 

FOR THE HIGHLANDERS 

Brent Long led for the Highlanders with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Taten Musso added 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists.

 

FOR THE FOES

Cochran led for his team with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Jimmy Villalobos followed with 13 points and 7 rebounds.  

 

Next action for the Highlanders comes Saturday, Feb. 20 as they take on SLIAC opponent, Fontbonne University.
