Highlanders remain on top defeating Spalding

HOW IT HAPPENED

Brandon Goeing started the game off for the Golden Eagles good for a three pointer to open the half. Brent Long quickly answered with a jump shot for the Highlanders and the game was on. Spalding would take a lead with less than three minutes in the half as Domonique Ellis shot for three. They then went on an eight point streak and would lead 33-28 at the half. The Highlanders faced difficulty to overcome this deficit early in the second half. Deavis Johnson went up for a dunk two minutes in, and set the team back on track. The Highlanders finished with high momentum taking a 72-65 victory.

FOR THE HIGHLANDERS 

 Deavis Johnson led with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assits.

Mike Cameron followed with 17 points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists.

Brent Long added 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.  

 

FOR THE FOES

 James Turner led for the Golden Eagles with 17 points and 3 rebounds.

Brandon Goeing followed with 14 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists.

Nick Trisko captured a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds.

 

Next action for the Highlanders comes Wednesday, Feb. 17 when they take on Westminster College in Bill Wall Gymnasium
