Highlanders upset Spalding

RECORDS: MacMurray College 3-20, 3-13 SLIAC Spalding University 15-8, 9-6 SLIAC 

HOW IT HAPPENED

 The Highlanders quickly took a lead in the first half staying consistent behind the arc shooting 7-for-14 at 50 pct. Spalding fell behind and were unable to overcome a 10 point deficit before the half resulting in a 43-33 halftime score. Alex Martin came out on fire in the second half for the Golden Eagles scoring 17 points. At the end of the third, Spalding climbed their way to trail MacMurray 52-51. The Highlanders remained on top in the fourth and took the win 77-70

FOR THE HIGHLANDERS 

Brianna Markusic led the Highlanders with a double-double scoring 27 points with 10 rebounds.

Liz Kruemmelbein followed with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Kylie Dostin added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.

 

FOR THE FOES

Alex Martin led for the Golden Eagles with 24 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assits.

Julie Skaggs added 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Maya Hardin followed with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

 

 

Next action for the Highlanders comes Wednesday, Feb. 17 when they take on Westminster College in Bill Wall Gymnasium
