Highlanders fall to Webster University

The Highlanders opened up the game as Brianna Markusic put the Highlanders on the board with a jump shot. The Gorlocks quickly answered as Taylor Lucas connected with Nadine Vaughn for two. The Gorlocks went on a run and took a seven point lead early in the first, and the Highlanders faced difficulty to get back on track. Ashley Huels put MacMurray back in the game as the second quarter opened and she shot for three. The Highlanders went on a run and remained steady with the Gorlocks throughout the quarter resulting in a halftime tie score of 29-29. Third quarter opened up and Melinda Wilson was good for a jump shot for the Highlanders. The Gorlocks answered with a 10 point streak and took the lead at the third 42- 33. The Highlanders were unable to overcome the deficit and the Gorlocks trailed ahead winning 60-43



Brianna Markusic led the Highlanders with a double-double scoring 20 points with 11 rebounds.

Kayla Horlacher followed with 9 points and 4 assists.



Taylor Lucas led her team with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

Britt Harris-Conway added 11 as well and grabbed 8 rebounds.




Next action for the Highlanders comes Saturday, Feb. 13 when they take on Spalding University in Bill Wall Gymnasium
