Highlanders take over Fontbonne

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Highlanders took off with a lead from the beginning up 5-0 with four minutes into the game. Fontbonne quickly answered and tied it up 6-6 as Tyler Williams went for a layup. Out shooting the Highlanders in free throws, Fontbonne took the halftime lead 35-34. The Highlanders shot 72.7% at the line in the first half, and Fontbonne went 8-for-11 shooting 77.8%. The Highlanders came back in the second half and would take the lead as Brent Long made a jump shot. Long finished with a double-double and went 7-for-11 in the paint. Fontbonne was not able to make a comeback and the Highlanders soared ahead resulting in a 76-66 victory.

FOR THE HIGHLANDERS 

Brent Long led his team with a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Deavis Johnson followed also with a double-double shooting 18 points, 14 rebounds.

Taten Musso contributed 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.
 

FOR THE FOES

Ben Kissing led his team with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and two assists.

Tyler Williams added 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Richard Dorhauer added 8 points and 9 rebounds.

 

 

Next action for the Highlanders comes Saturday, Jan. 23 when they take on Iowa Wesleyan in Bill Wall Gymnasium.
