Highlanders out shot by the Blue Jays

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Highlanders began the game strong competing with the Blue Jays going back and forth with the lead. Late in the first quarter, MacMurray fell behind when Andrea Zalis shot a three to take a 7-4 lead, and the Blue Jays went on a 20 point lead. The Highlanders were unable to recover from that deficit and resulted in a 81-54 loss.
 

FOR THE HIGHLANDERS 

Kayla Horlacher added 15 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds for the Highlanders.

Brianna Markusic also put up 15 points, and had 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Liz Kruemmelbein contributed 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal.


 

 FOR THE FOES

Kasey Gatson led her team with 19 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Andrea Zalis followed with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Krista Armontrout added 10 points, and 5 rebounds for the Blue Jays.

 

 

Next action for the Highlanders comes Wednesday, Jan. 20 when they take on Fontbonne University in Bill Wall Gymnasium.
