Wilson scores 19 in loss to Gorlocks

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Highlanders opened up with a slow start not able to score until five minutes into the first quarter. Andie Marvel put MacMurray on the board when she received a pass by Ashley Huels for a three-pointer. The Gorloks stayed on top finishing the first quarter up 15-11. The second half the Highlanders went on a run and surpassed the Gorloks with 6:32 left in the half. Melinda Wilson scoring four of those points to take a 20-18 lead. This would be the only time MacMurray led the Gorlocks. Nadine Vaughn stepped up in the second and led her team to a victory scoring 16 points resulting in a 56-38 loss for the Highlanders.

Melinda Wilson led for the Highlanders with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Liz Kruemmelbein followed with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Kylie Dostin added 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Nadine Vaughn led with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Ashley Brooks followed with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Aley Lucas added 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Next action for the Highlanders comes Wednesday, Jan. 13 as they travel to take on conference foe, Spalding University.
