Network Access

Use the instructions below to connect to the MacMurray network while on campus.

Connecting your computer to the network via a network cable is the best way to access the internet on campus as it provides the most stable connection.

Network ports are available in all dorm rooms and offices.

Wireless hotspots are located across campus and are mostly centered around the dorms, academic buildings, campus center, and the dining hall.

The majority of buildings on campus have wireless coverage throughout; however, connectivity is not guaranteed everywhere in every building. For example, certain rooms a certain distance from access points may have limited or no connectivity compared to other spots in the building. This is especially true in the dorms. Unlike at home, here you are sharing wireless signal and bandwidth with over 500 people.

To connect your computer or other device wirelessly, find the MACWIFI SSIDs in the list of available networks. The password for wireless is HighlandersAre#1!

Remember: if you are having trouble connecting wirelessly, try using a wired connection if possible since it is faster and more reliable.
