Senior forward Brady Slagle scored a game-high 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds to propel the MacMurray College men's basketball team to its eighth straight victory Thursday night in a 91-74 win at Blackburn College. With the win, the Highlanders remain tied with Spalding University atop the SLIAC conference standings with idential 11-1 league records.

In addition to Slagle's outstanding performance, the Highlanders got key contributions from Dylan Guthrie (17 points), Hunter Sutton (12 points) and Cole Busch (11 points).  Coach Todd Creal's club, which leads the conference in both scoring offense and scoring defense, shot 53% from the field while holding the upset-minded Beavers to 45%.

The road to a regular-season SLIAC conference title doesn't get any easier as the Highlanders travel to Webster University tomorrow (2PM tip-off) for another key league game.  The Gorloks are currently one game back in the conference standings with a 9-2 league record.
