Hunter Hill set the tone early with sixteen quick points and #14-rated Augustana College (Ill.) ran away from MacMurray College 100-69 Saturday night in Rock Island, Ill. Hill led the host Vikings with 24 points and Augustana shot a blistering 67% (including 12-18 from beyond the 3-pt. line) from the field to raise their record to 6-1 overall.
The Highlanders were led by Brady Slagle's sixteen points, but the senior forward scored just one point in the second half. Clayton Whitlock and Dylan Burton added ten points apiece and Whitlock pulled down a team-high five rebounds.
The loss drops the Highlanders record to 5-3 overall. Coach Todd Creal's club will break for the Holidays and will return to action on Dec. 29, when they host the University of Dallas in a 3PM contest.
