The MacMurray College men's basketball team improved to 2-1 overall with a 94-69 victory over Knox College (1-2) tonight in their home opener. The Highlanders shot an impressive 62.9% from the field (including 66.7% from behind the 3-point arc) and had four players in double-figures in the win over the Prairie Fire.
Coach Todd Creal's team got 52 of their 94 points off the bench and was led by reserves Dylan Guthrie and Hunter Sutton who each had a game-high fifteen points. Brady Slagle added twelve points, five rebounds and a game-high six assists. Dylan Burton had ten points, six rebounds and two blocked shots; and Clayton Whitlock added nine points and five rebounds.
David Jones and Mitch Murphy led Knox College with twelve points apiece.
The Highlanders will be back in Wall Gymnasium on Saturday night when they host St. Louis Christian College in a 7PM tip.
