The MacMurray College women's basketball team dropped a 88-58 decision against Calumet College of St. Joseph Friday night in the second game of the MacMurray College Classic tournament in Wall Gymnasium. The Crimson Wave jumped out to a 44-24 halftime lead and led by as many as 37 points in the second half.
Reserve forward Jen Cox led the Highlanders with twelve points and also grabbed six rebounds in the loss. Megan Duisen was also in double figures with ten points and Breezy Walton had a team-high eight rebounds. The Highlanders connected on only three of fifteen shots beyond the three-point line; but did improve from the free throw stripe as they shot 70% in the second half (14-20) after a 30% (3-10) performance in the first half.
Crystal Daniels paced Calumet College of St. Joseph with a game-high sixteen points (6-7 from the field and 4-4 from the line) and four steals.
The Crimson Wave improve to 5-5 overall; while the Highlanders drop to 0-6. Calumet College of St. Joseph will play Greenville College at noon tomorrow; while MacMurray College will face Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College at 2PM. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods defeated Greenville 90-79 Friday night in the opening game of the MacMurray College Classic tournament.
