Slagle and Burton named to Tipoff All-Tournament Team

November 18, 2013

Senior Brady Slagle of Winchester, Ill. was named the MVP of the Cavallo Tipoff Classic All-Tournament Team. Slagle lead the Highlander offense over the weekend, scoring 25 points against St. Joseph Calumet and 24 points against Rust College.  He ended the weekend with a .526 field goal percentage.  He also had 24 rebounds and 5 assists on the weekend.  Defensively, he had 4 steals and 4 blocks.

Men’s Basketball Head Coach Todd Creal weighed in on his all-tournament selection, “Brady had outstanding play over the weekend on both ends of the court.  He did a little bit of everything for us.  He is our leader and played like it.”

Also named to the All-Tournament team for the Highlanders was senior, Dylan Burton of Girard, Ill.  Burton had 20 points on the weekend, shooting .625 from the field.  He also had 7 rebounds.

“Dylan Burton played well this weekend as he attempts to leave behind the injury filled memories of the last two years.  Dylan earned his all-tournament selection by shooting a scorching 10-15 from the field in two games.  Foul trouble limited his minutes, or his production would have been even better,” said Creal.
