The MacMurray College men’s basketball team opened up SLIAC play 1-0 by topping Eureka College on Wednesday, November 28th, 74-67.
Mac trailed at the half by one against the Red Devils, 34-33. The Highlanders were just four for 13 in three point attempts and 12 for 27 from the floor.
The Highlanders were able to step it up a notch and take the game away from Eureka in the second half shooting 51.7% from the floor. The team was also 11 for 14 in free throw shots. MacMurray took the game in the last minute as Eureka attempted to foul the Highlanders but Mac was able execute successfully on their free throw attempts.
Sophomore Dylan Guthrie led the Highlanders with 21 points while sophomore Clayton Whitlock followed with 20 points. Sophomore Spencer Pratt and junior Brady Slagle totaled eight rebounds.
Mac will travel to Westminster College on Saturday, December 1st for a 3:00pm game. The game will be broadcasted on the radio by MacMurray student Sean Lopez.
