Mac Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches in Iowa

     The MacMurray College volleyball team traveled to Mount Pleasant, Iowa on Saturday, September 8th for a pair of matches against William Penn University and Iowa Wesleyan College.

     The team kicked off the day dropping a match to William Penn University in three sets by final individual set scores of 15-25, 11-25, and 12-25.  Senior Taylor Soat led the Highlander attack with 6 kills in the match while junior Sammy Petefish topped the Mac defense with 7 digs. 

     Mac competed against its future conference competitor Iowa Wesleyan College for their second match of the day, but fell just short of the victory in five sets.  Scores of the sets were as follows: 12-25, 25-23, 28-26, 16-25, and 10-15.  Taylor Soat tallied 11 kills in the match while junior Bri Pohl contributed offensively with 7 kills.  Freshman Alexa Boyer helped out totaling 25 assists in the match.     

     The Highlanders will look to snap their losing streak when they travel to Greenville on Tuesday, September 11th as they open up conference play.
