Career Exploration

My Next Move

MacMurray College students looking to explore career options, at any stage in their career planning, are encouraged to use O*NET's My Next Move program.

My Next Move is a free, interactive tool for job seekers and students to learn more about their career options. The site has tasks, skills, salary information, and more for over 900 different careers. Users at each career planning stage can find careers

  1. through keyword search (Ready to Find a Job);
  2. by browsing industries that employ different types of workers (Ready to Explore Certain Fields);
  3. or through the O*NET Interest Profiler, a tool that offers personalized career suggestions based on a person's interests and level of work experience (Beginners/Undeclared/Exploring).

The third option, the Interest Profiler, gives the widest range of options and career reports, while the first, My Next Move, is more streamlined.

These tools are easy to use and will provide you with concise, useful information as you get ready to leave MacMurray and enter your professional career. Give them a try.
