There's always something going on at MacMurray College! Check out some of the fun things we've done lately.
Alumni Basketball Game
The inaugeral men's basketball alumni game was a great success as 17 former MacMurray Highlanders returned to Bob Gay Court in Bill Wall Gymnasium on Saturday January 26, 2008. Planning is already underway for the second game next year! View the slideshow.
Dog Day
Inspired by Robert Francis’ poem "The Hound," Dr. Jeannie Zeck’s students in her Introduction to Poetry and Short Fiction class were delighted to host Dog Day on Friday, December 7, 2007. Dr. Zeck invited the students to bring their pups to class in MacMurray Hall room 29 where the class spent the hour reading and analyzing dog poetry -- that is, poems by and about dogs from the anthology, Unleashed: Poems by Writers’ Dogs, edited by Amy Hempel and Jim Shepard. Sweet Success!
FYE students, led by Assistant Professor of Art, Khara Koffel, volunteered their time to clean up the yard of the historic Grierson house in Jacksonville – it was a huge success! Working much harder and quicker than anyone had imagined, the students involved filled 64 GIANT TRASH BAGS with leaves in no time flat. View a larger version of this picture.
