Health Care Referrals
There are several private family physicians that see MacMurray students regularly. They will try to make an appointment within 24 hours of a call. They all require some form of payment at the time of service. Students should be prepared for this. They do not always bill insurance since some insurance companies do not cover office visits. If it is urgent and no appointments are available, students may visit the Outpatient Department at Passavant Hospital. This typically costs more than a Doctor's office visit. They will bill the insurance company for services rendered.

Any students who are under an insurance plan should check to see what type of coverage is available to them in this area. Some HMO's identify specific physicians that students should be referred to and this should be noted on the health certificate.
Students may visit the Health Services office for treatment of minor illnesses/infections. Over-the-counter medications are available.
