MacMurray College hires new assistant coach
Austin Brough takes on baseball responsibilities
MacMurray College has hired Austin Brough, of Clifton, IL, as the new Highlander assistant baseball coach.
Brough has an extensive background in baseball and a long relationship with Head Baseball Coach Justin Fuhler. He played for Coach Fuhler throughout his high school career before playing in his college years at Western Illinois University.
Most recently, he played professionally for two years as a free agent left handed pitcher in the minor leagues with the Lakewood BlueClaws (a Philadelphia Phillies affiliate).
“I’m excited to be at Mac,” Brough said. “I like a challenge, and coaching is a challenge. We’ve got a good team, and we’re ready to make progress.”
Brough is the son of Lon and Sharon Brough of Clifton. He lives in Jacksonville, IL.
