MacMurray student honored

Rochelle McElroy named the December student leader of the month.


Rochelle McElroy, of Springfield, IL, was named the student of month for December at MacMurray College. She is a senior double-majoring in Biology and Philosophy & Religion. Student leaders of the month are selected by showing academic excellence and involvement around campus.

McElroy is the MacMurray Student Association representative for biology. She is also the new president of the Biology Club. McElroy has re-energized the club, planning and executing activities like a homecoming fundraiser, the Town Brook clean up and working on the community garden and biology greenhouse.

McElroy is the daughter of Rick McElroy and Pam Chapman of Springfield.
