Mac artists put on a show

JACKSONVILLE, IL – The annual MacMurray College student art show opens Thursday, April 19, with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Applebee Art Gallery in the Putnam/Springer Center.

 The show highlights more than two dozen of the best artwork on campus this year by more than 15 student artists, including Chelsea Verticchio, Shelby Woodward, Beth Ham, Ashley Schabacker, Jeanine Hampton, Anna Myszka, Megan Luckey, Leo Coronado, Reba Barnes, Amy Fink, Amber Centi, Janson Shehorn, Katie Woods, Fonashay Potter, Kenzie Cochran, Jessica Garner and Teresa Marcotte, whose photo appears left.

 After the opening, the College’s annual Honors Recognition Program will begin at 7 p.m. in the Thoresen Recital Hall, also in Putnam/Springer Center. The Putnam/Springer Center is on the southeast corner of State Street and Clay Avenue.

 The show continues through MacMurray Commencement weekend on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6, with the gallery open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday before then.
