Assistant professor contributes to published book
Jill Parsons part of revision team for nursing textbook.

JACKSONVILLE, IL – Jill Parsons, assistant professor of nursing, was on the revision team as a contributor for the Sensory Alterations chapter of the eighth edition of Fundamentals of Nursing, published by Elsevier. Fundamentals of Nursing provides students with a strong base for their nursing education, most readers being first level nursing students.
Parsons was introduced to academic writing through her mentor, Dr. Amy Hall, who invited her to contribute to the text. “I have enjoyed the opportunity to continually develop my writing skills and share my knowledge with undergraduate nursing students,” said Parsons.
While Parsons is not the original author of the book, she is a contributor to the published text. “This is the second time I have contributed to the textbook,” she said. “My role was to add new elements to the Sensory Alteration chapter such as clinical application and review questions, case studies, and to update the references.”
