Segment to air Dec. 7

JACKSONVILLE, IL – MacMurray professor Jeannie Zeck’s research will be the focus of an upcoming segment of Quiddity, an Illinois Public Radio program on the arts. The segment will air 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7 on WUIS 91.9-FM.
The show will feature Zeck’s presentation on the influence of Romare Bearden, the visual artist, on August Wilson's plays. The segment includes an interview with Zeck by Quiddity’s Joanna Beth Tweedy and scenes from Wilson’s plays read by area actors.
Zeck is an associate professor of English and Theatre at MacMurray, and she presented a lecture on this topic in May, during MacMurray’s 2010-11 Speakers Series. The show was recorded at a Black History Month presentation at Benedictine University in Springfield.
