Applebee exhibition to feature two sculptors
St. Louis artist and MacMurray faculty to show works.

JACKSONVILLE, IL – Jim Daniels, a St. Louis-area artist, and Khara Koffel, associate professor of art at MacMurray, will present a joint art exhibit at the Applebee Gallery in the Putnam/Springer Center at MacMurray.
The opening reception of “neither here nor there,” will be 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, with a gallery talk at 6:15 p.m. The Putnam/Springer Center is at the corner of East State Street and Clay Avenue.
Daniels received his MFA from Washington University in St. Louis, was a visiting artist at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina and has participated in group exhibitions in Berlin, Germany. In his work, he strives to suggest something that is about to happen or something that has already taken place, and in doing so, seeks to create a sense of tension and vulnerability.
Koffel exhibits her work regularly in the Midwest and beyond, with shows in St. Louis, Chicago, Maryland, Alabama and numerous other venues. Koffel, a Jacksonville resident, focuses on the intimate, depicting in her work personal stories, anecdotes and memories, often of family.
The exhibition continues to Nov. 20. The Applebee Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and by appointment at 479-7092 or applebeegallery@mac.edu. For more information, see http://www.mac.edu/applebee_gallery/current.asp.
