New head volleyball coach for Highlanders
Assistant Professor Danielle Doerfler joins the coaching staff

Danielle Doerfler will step in as the head women’s volleyball coach at MacMurray College effective immediately.
Doerfler is the director of the Physical Education Department and an assistant professor at MacMurray. She earned her bachelor’s in physical education, with a health endorsement in December 2003 from Illinois College in Jacksonville. Doerfler earned her master’s in education with a focus on physical education from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY in May 2008.
“I am extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to lead the Highlander Women’s Volleyball team and extend my gratitude to Athletic Director Dane Pavlovich for this coaching opportunity. My goal is to ultimately bring success and passion to the women’s volleyball program at MacMurray. We will strive to do this with our hard work, determination and character, both on and off the court,” said Doerfler. “It is my desire to eventually place the Highlander volleyball team among the top competitors in the SLIAC conference.”
Doerfler was previously the head Girls’ volleyball coach at Brown County School District in Mount Sterling, IL from 2005-2009. She also coached seventh-grade volleyball at Farmington Central in 2004.
“I am very excited that Danielle will be a member of the coaching staff at MacMurray,” said Athletic Director Dane Pavlovich. “She has the work ethic and a strong knowledge base to be a very successful volleyball coach at Mac.”
