Experienced instructor and advocate to join faculty

Joseph Squillace will join MacMurray’s faculty this year as an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Chair of the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He comes to MacMurray from Saint Louis, MO where he is completing a Ph. D. in Public Policy at Saint Louis University. Squillace brings experience in instruction and social work practice to MacMurray.

Squillace taught classes in policy, community development and social work at Saint Louis University, Washington University in St. Louis and St. Louis Community College at Meramec. He received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the undergraduate social work students at Saint Louis University.

Squillace gained children and healthcare advocacy experience as Chief Operating Officer for Positive Family Enterprise, Inc and as a health policy analyst for Citizen’s for Missouri’s Children. He drafted the Comprehensive Children’s Mental Health Services System legislation, which passed in the Missouri legislature.

He is a graduate of Fordham University in New York City, NY and has a Master’s of Social Work degree from St. Louis University.
