Dhom promoted to chief fundraiser
Interim status made permanent.
Bridget Dhom, Interim Director of Development, has been named Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, the College’s head of fundraising and alumni relations.
“I am honored by the opportunity to serve MacMurray College as the lead member of the Institutional Advancement team,” she said. “The college has a wonderful assembly of alumni and friends who desire to support the institution they love. It is a true pleasure to help connect the men and women of Mac’s rich history to the college’s vibrant future.”
She will become a member of the senior staff, the college’s leadership team. MacMurray President Colleen Hester made the appointment late last month after consulting with Allen Croessmann, chairman of the MacMurray Board of Trustees, and the board’s Institutional Advancement Committee’s co-chairs, Nancy Berst and David Ekin.
“As Interim Director of Development, Bridget worked effectively with focus, delivery, and joy,” said President Hester. “I have found her to be a very competent partner, and she has effectively worked with and energized her colleagues in Institutional Advancement.”
Dhom became interim of the department in March, and during the 2009-2010 academic year, the college exceeded its goal in support of operations and raised $1.8 million in total giving.
Dhom, a Jacksonville resident, came to MacMurray in late 2008 as the Director of Annual Giving. During her tenure, she directed Livewire, the college’s annual phonathon, which raised an average of $160,000 each year, exceeding expectations both years under her leadership.
Before coming to MacMurray, Dhom was operations and grants manager at McHenry County Community Foundation in her hometown of Woodstock, Ill., northwest of Chicago.
