Assistant director joins the Center for Learning Excellence
Danny Callihan brings experience as a teacher, success coach.

Danny Callihan joins MacMurray’s staff as assistant director at the Center for Learning Excellence. He will tutor students, train peer tutors, and assist students with study skills.
“Helping students is what I love,” said Callihan. “I hope to be a positive influence at MacMurray College.”
Callihan comes to MacMurray from Spoon River College in Canton, Ill., where he worked with Jenny Briney, Director of the Center for Learning Excellence at MacMurray. At Spoon River College, Callihan tutored students and designed and presented workshops for students and faculty. Before working as a student success coach, Callihan taught biology for nine years at Spoon River College.
Callihan has received completion certificates for two levels of College and Career Success Workshops. His certification as Developmental Education Specialist from the Kellogg Institute is pending.
Callihan has a bachelor’s and master’s in biology, both from Western Illinois University.
