Students elected to executive leadership
MacMurray College announces MacMurray Student Association officers.
MacMurray College named the executive leadership of the MacMurray Student Association (MSA) at its 164th Convocation Ceremony on August 25. MSA is the governing body of MacMurray students. The association oversees student organizations and ensures that individual students are represented in campus governance. It serves as an intermediary between MacMurray faculty and staff and the students.
Taylor Sweeting of Pittsfield, Ill., is president. He is a senior majoring in Social Work and the son of Terry and Judy Sweeting of Pittsfield, Ill. He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 2007.
Audra Glenn of Carlinville, Ill., is vice president. She is a senior majoring in Social Work from Carlinville, Ill., and the daughter of Doug Glenn of Litchfield, Ill., and Becky Glenn of Carlinville, Ill. She graduated from Carlinville High School in 2007.
Amy Goodman of Peru, Ill., is treasurer. She is a junior majoring in Interpreting and is the daughter of Chris and Gary Goodman of Peru, Ill. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 2008.
Julie Gerken of Naperville, Ill., is secretary. She is a junior majoring in Interpreting and is the daughter of Jean and John Gerken of Naperville, Ill. She graduated from Naperville Central High School in 2008.
Erin Shanks of Shelbyville, Ill., is parliamentarian. She is a junior majoring in Special Education and the daughter of Mark and Melissa Shanks of Shelbyville, Ill. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 2007.
To be a member of the executive board of the MSA a student must maintain a 2.5 GPA. They must also have been elected senators by their peers and serve for at least a year in the student senate.
