MacMurray rings for Salvation Army

Jacksonville – It’s better to give than to receive. It’s an old adage but it “rings” true every year with the Salvation Army’s efforts to raise money for the needy. Again this year, the MacMurray College community is helping out during the holidays.

Students and staff are donating their time to ring the bells to raise money for the Salvation Army’s efforts to bring help to those in need. The Greek council will be volunteering their time on Thursday, December 1, from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Shopko. The admissions staff asks all members of the academic community to drop by and throw some change in the bucket as they ring for charity on Monday, December 12, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Wal-Mart in Jacksonville.

The money raised goes directly to the Salvation Army’s local efforts to help the needy in Jacksonville. Last year, MacMurray helped in a local effort that helped raise over $45,000.
