Holland voted Student of the Month for October/05

    Jacksonville – Tanya Holland, a sophomore from East Moline, received the award as Student Leader of the Month for October, 2005.

     Ms. Holland, the daughter Larry and Tammie Holland, is a 2004 graduate of United Township High School where she was active in marching band, dance, drama, color guard, and a member of the National Honor Society.

     Any full-time MacMurray student is eligible for this honor. Nominations are made by College faculty and staff of any student who has shown exceptional leadership for that month.

     Ms. Holland is a resident assistant at Rutledge Hall and involved in BACCHUS, Belle Lettres, choir and the CAB (Campus Activity Board) and is majoring both in deaf and hard of hearing: teacher education and the interpreter training.

     She was nominated by assistant professor Joan Olsen, director of interpreter training, who said, “she represents the college well, is a great student and leader, involved in many activities and is a positive, well-rounded individual with a wonderful attitude.”

     Ms. Holland will graduate from MacMurray in 2008 where she has also been on the Dean's List, active in the phoneathon, vice president of the MacMurray Student Association and received highest honors in general scholarship for the class of '08.
