MacMurray College to feature Arts Alive
Jacksonville – Put together equal parts of art, music and theatre and what do you get? A wonderful evening of pure entertainment.
At 6:15 p.m., pianist Mark Valenti will perform in Annie Merner Chapel. His musical program will include works by Debussy, Bartòk and Chopin. Mr. Valenti has performed recitals throughout the U.S., France, Belgium, Hungary and Luxembourg. He has also performed for First Lady Barbara Bush in Washington, D.C. The third and final part of the evening’s events will be a performance of Tales of the Last Formicans at 7:30 p.m. in the Marian Chase Schaeffer Theatre. Directed by Dr. dee, the play by Constance Congdon is described as a postmodern comedy told by alien anthropologists and an American family in dysfunction. Reservations for Arts Alive should be made before Oct. 31st by calling 217-479-7150. Requests for accommodations related to disabilities should be made by calling at least one week in advance of the event. The $10 admission will cover admission to all three events.
