MacMurray’s 16th Harker 5k run/walk slated

    Jacksonville – MacMurray College’s 16th annual Harker 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 29th, as part of Homecoming 2005 at the College. The 8:30 a.m. event is open to females and males of all ages.

     Runners and walkers are invited to register now. The entry fee is $15 through Oct. 21st and $20 after that.

     The five-kilometer (3.1 mile) course starts and ends on the MacMurray soccer field. The course covers varied terrain across campus and on neighboring Jacksonville streets.

     Trophies will be awarded to the first- and second-place overall men and women, and first-place men and women in divisions for runners 39 and under, 40 and over, Mac alumni, Mac students and Mac faculty/staff.

     Along with competitive runners, people of all ages are invited to enter as walkers. They may proceed at their own pace.

     Each paid entrant will receive a Harker 5K t-shirt. Mac students may run for free, but are not eligible for overall trophies or t-shirts if they do so.
