MacMurray Opening Convocation Tuesday, August 29th


    Jacksonville – MacMurray College begins its 160th academic year with its annual Opening Convocation on Tuesday, August 29th at 9:00 a.m. in Annie Merner Chapel.

     Following the invocation by College Chaplain Randy Myers, President Lawrence D. Bryan will welcome students, faculty and staff. Dr. David Fitz, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, will then introduce new scholarship recipients.

      Dr. Fitz will also give the convocation address.

      V.P. of Enrollment Management Rhonda Cors will discuss the transition of new students into the MacMurray College community. Following, new officers of the MacMurray Student Association will be installed by Dr. Sally Cayan, Vice President of Student Affairs, and new MSA President Carlleen Bell, an English and secondary education major.

      Convocation participants will also include organist Dr. Jay Peterson and the MacMurray choir under the direction of conductor Terri Benz.

      Interpreting will be provided for the hearing-impaired.
