New business professor at Mac

     Jacksonville – Dr. David Fitz, MacMurray College Vice President of Academic Affairs, announced the appointment of Alan D. Hansen as assistant professor of business administration at the college. He will begin his new duties with the 2006 fall semester.

     Prof. Hansen, of Havana, had previously been an adjunct faculty member at both the University of St. Francis and DeVry University in Chicago.

     For the past three years, he has taught online courses for MBA and undergraduate degree programs at the University of St. Francis. He has also taught online economics and designed a microeconomics master course at DeVry University.

     Prof. Hansen spent five years at Midstate College in Peoria from 1997 – 2002. He was department chair of the BBA program as well as Director of Institutional Researrch.

     He earned his B.A. degree in Japanese and Far East Asian Studies and an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from Brigham Young University. Dr. Hansen was featured in Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 2002 and 2004.

     He has held positions with companies like Systemax Corporation, Circle K Corporation, and one year as a Japanese linguist and economic analyst for the National Security Agency.
