Mac alum named to All-Ironman Team
Carter is joined by offensive/defensive lineman Joe Minucci in receiving a league award this year. Minucci was named to the All-Arena second-team earlier this week and leads the Kats with 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and 9.5 tackles-for-loss. The second-year player also led the Kats in sacks last season and earned AFL All-Rookie honors in 2005. The awards for ADT Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and U.S. Army Ironman Player of the Year are to be announced this week. A star linebacker at MacMurray, Carter was named IBFC Special Teams Player of the Year in 1995, and was named SLIAC and IBFC First-Team for three consecutive years (1996-1998). He earned SLIAC Defensive MVP honors in 1997 and 1998. During his senior campaign, the Don Hansen Football Gazette named Carter as All-Conference, All-Region and All-American. Located in Jacksonville, Ill., MacMurray College is a private, four-year, liberal arts, coeducational college, founded in 1846, and affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
