MacMurray appoints new VP and CIO
Mr. Rang has served the College as its Director of Information Technology for the last six years. From 1994 to his arrival on campus, he taught computer technology for MacMurray in its educational outreach to inmates at the Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mount Sterling. From 1988 to 1994, he served as Vice President for Operations and Engineering at Health Care Communications, Inc., in Lincoln, Nebraska. Additionally, he has owned and operated his own computer consulting firm, taught computer science at both Western Illinois University and John Wood Community College, and—with his father—constructed over 30 private residences. Mr. Rang served as a construction superintendent for the Galesburg Construction Company at age 20. He earned his B.S. degree with honors in computer science from the University of Wyoming and completed extensive graduate course work in computer science at Western Illinois University. Located in Jacksonville, Ill., MacMurray College is a private, four-year, liberal arts, coeducational college, founded in 1846, and affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
