Jacksonville – The
annual MacMurray College Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon was held recently
at the Jacksonville Country Club.
On Wednesday, May 18th, a large group
of the Mac Net volunteers was on hand to enjoy lunch and visit
with College staff.
Afterward, the College awarded Louise
Bone ‘56 the Dr. Richard Freiburg Award as the volunteer of the
year for 2005.
The award is given each year to honor
one of the many Mac Net volunteers, a group of dedicated alumni
and friends of the College. Mrs. Bone is the wife of Dr. E. C.
Bone, longtime Jacksonville area physician. She graduated from
MacMurray in 1956, is a trustee of the College and serves on the
Art Committee. Mrs. Bone has spent many hours of her time as an
active Mac Net volunteer and continues to do so.
The award is named in honor of Dr.
Freiburg, biology professor emeritus, who was its first recipient
in 1995 and was present for the occasion.
